Kate Morton’s The Forgotten Garden is the perfect book for readers who love a story shrouded in intricate secrets, with unexpected twists. The Forgotten Garden is about a woman who, on her twenty-first birthday discovers that she was taken in as a child by the local dock master, the man she had always believed to be her father. When she learns that her beloved family is not truly her own, she sets out on a journey to the Cornish Coast to learn more about the wealthy family who abandoned her on a ship when she was just a toddler. The story she finds there is a tragic one that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. Every time I think of this book I want to pick it up and read it again, just as I did the first time I finished the book three years ago.
