Review Policy

Thank you for taking an interest in my blog (and me). I appreciate you stopping by. I will be straight up honest with you, I find it increasingly difficult to find a book that holds my interest these days. It’s not for lack of trying, believe you me. I would love to live in a world where I had nothing to fill my hours but reading books that tickled my fancy. Being a writer myself, I know the struggles of staring at the screen, straining your eyes til they’re bloodshot just to see how many the, then, said, and they you can plop in the middle of your manuscript just to reach your ultimate destination, that dreaded necessary evil: the word count. That being said, unless you can make me choke on my morning coffee in shock or keep me reading through my afternoon nap, generally, the ratings I give fall somewhere in the mid-to-low range.

As with most things in life, I know what I like and what I don’t. But I’m willing to give it a shot, even if the synopsis of your book may have received less than stellar reviews elsewhere. I like to come to my own honest conclusions, and if we haven’t learned not to judge a book by its cover by now, well, then, what are any of us doing here? So, yes, I have given many low ratings to various books, but the point is, I stuck it out. Each and every one of those books and I took quite the journey together my friend, and when each and every individual trip was over, I looked at that book and I gave my full and honest opinion. Albeit, there were times when I drudged so long through a book’s pages that writing a review sometimes gave me a venting outlet.

I am not big on the romance genre, or the young adult genre for that matter, as nearly every plot has something to do with vampires or werewolves. As you can probably conclude from my tagline, I hate cheesy fluff. However, as I said before, I will give it a shot. I do enjoy novels with an element of dark, romantic suspense. Keep in mind, I am the number one fan of anything unique and different.
